Norway Launches Regional Cancer Care

The South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, Helse Sør-Øst RHF, have signed a deal to roll out JAC’s Chemotherapy Management System (CMS) across its 17 health Trusts, satellite clinics and seven chemotherapy production pharmacies in order to help improve the quality of cancer care and patient safety across the whole region. Isle of Wight’s Ward-Based Drugs Storage ‘Leading the Way’

The Isle of Wight Radio broadcasted a news story about the Island’s NHS Trust’s new storage system at St Mary’s Hospital, which was funded by the NHSE Technology Fund and uses touch recognition technology. Fifteen wards and departments at St Mary’s have all their medicines stored in automated Omnicell cabinets, which are linked to JAC’s EPMA system, and are automatically refilled through a link with a ‘pharmacy robot’ based in the main pharmacy department. The new touch recognition technology allows ward staff to select medicines for specific patients using touch recognition technology such as keyless, fingerprint access, eliminating the need for usernames and passwords, saving considerable time.
